Lisa Chang

Chief Technology Officer

Lisa joined Praxis in 2011 as a software engineer specializing in AI research. While at Praxis, she has led technical teams, developed applications for Natural Language Processing, Reverse Engineering, and High Performance Computing, and led proposal/capture efforts for Business Development. In 2016, Lisa developed Praxis's in-house Data Science/Machine Learning class, a weeklong course she taught regularly. This course was reworked as a virtual, "work at your own pace" option in 2021 due to the pandemic and made available to all of our employees. Lisa enjoys mentoring and finding ways to share knowledge with others -- as a speaker at tech conferences and community talks, and creating Praxis's "Superpowers for Success" series of panel discussions on soft skills. Prior to joining the Intelligence and Defense industry in 2005, she worked as a chemical engineer, providing technical support in the development of engine oils, fiber optics, and semiconductors.

Lisa earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Computer Science from Rice University. She enjoys knitting and other crafty pursuits, cozy mysteries, running, and hiking. She lives with her husband in the Annapolis area.
